DIY Window Picture Frame

It's no secret that I'm a Pinterest addict. I'm sure you've seen the cute posts of old windows being refurbished into chalkboards, jewelry hangers, calendars and the list goes on and on. I stumbled across a huge, 9 pane window at a local antique mall, and just had to buy it- not sure of what I would do with it.

I finally decided it would look great as a picture display on our tall wall in the living room. I combined my love of vinyl and black and white pictures to come up with our "wedding vow frame".

It was super easy, and an inexpensive, cute way to display our wedding/ engagement pictures.

I went back and forth as to whether or not I wanted to fill all 9 panes with pictures. Ultimately I ended up cutting mine and my husband's wedding vows out of vinyl, and putting pictures in only 6 of the panes.

Aside from cutting and weeding (and weeding, and weeding, and weeding) the vinyl all I did was print 8x10 pictures at Walgreens, slapped some double stick tape in the corners and had Matt add a picture hanger to the back.

It's probably my favorite piece in our house. I couldn't be more happy with it and I love that it's a daily reminder of our commitment to each other.

After this project I'm now a window hoarder; so I'm sure I'll be adding more "window projects"!

  1. Hi! How did you get the pictures to stick to the glass without using tape you can see? Thanks
